I woke up humming The Star Spangled Banner this morning. What a way to start my Fourth of July holiday, already in the spirit!
We went to see the fireworks on Sunday at my paternal in-laws country club celebration. The music was loud, the food was plentiful, there was a lovely breeze, everyone was smiling, and ending the day with a fabulous fireworks show over a golf course lake was pretty amazing! I've never had such an unobstructed view of fireworks before. We sat on the edge of the water and could see the men lighting the dynamite with road flares, their bodies so close to danger all for the sake of celebrating our country. The sparkly stars reflected upon the water and we could actually hear them sizzle out as the lit embers landed upon the lake's surface. It was enchanting.
I took a few days off from the shop this week to rest and celebrate. Today we're cooking out here at home with more relatives from afar. We got a new grill for the occasion and Mick even finished up a patio project that's been in the works for a little while.
We're looking forward to a happy, kinda lazy little day celebrating America!
Happy Fourth of July to you all! From us to you!
Have fun today!!
